Helping Develop the Next Generation of Weight-Management Treatments
Dr Asif Malik Humayun combines extensive clinical experience in obesity medicine with active involvement in clinical research evaluating innovative approaches to weight management.
He has served as Principal Investigator in clinical studies investigating SIRONA, a novel orally administered, gastro-retentive hydrogel treatment designed to support weight loss by promoting satiety and reducing dietary intake.
His involvement has included first-in-human research assessing safety, feasibility and tolerability, followed by proof-of-concept evaluation of efficacy and potential application in maintaining weight loss following GLP-1 treatment.
The SIRONA Research Programme
SIRONA is an investigational oral hydrogel treatment being studied as a potential non-systemic approach to weight management. Unlike medicines that act through absorption into the bloodstream, the investigational hydrogel is designed to expand within the gastrointestinal tract and promote a feeling of fullness.

Dr Humayun's Role
